How Merclo handles store and analytics data
Last updated: June 8, 2026
What Merclo does
Merclo is a Shopify growth app. It connects to a merchant's Shopify store and, when the merchant chooses, Google Analytics, Search Console, and Merchant Center. Merclo uses this data to find growth opportunities, prepare SEO/content improvements, track results, and manage an ongoing improvement queue.
Data we collect
From Shopify, Merclo may process store profile data, product and content data, theme/translation data, app installation state, connector status, growth tasks, approvals, and activity logs. Merclo does not request order access in the current public app scope and does not store customer profiles or order records.
From Google, Merclo may process the analytics assets selected by the merchant: GA4 traffic and revenue metrics, Search Console query/page performance, and Merchant Center product diagnostics. Google tokens are stored encrypted.
How we use data
We use connected data to generate store audits, health scores, recommendations, approval queues, automated safe fixes, performance snapshots, and follow-up tasks. We do not sell merchant data.
Data sharing
Merclo uses trusted infrastructure providers to host the application, database, background worker, and logs. Data is shared only as needed to operate the service, comply with law, or protect the service.
Data deletion
When a shop uninstall or Shopify privacy redaction request is received, Merclo deletes or disconnects the relevant shop data in accordance with Shopify privacy requirements. Merchants can also request deletion by contacting support@merclo.ai.
